I have windows 8 app (digital nightstand) in windows 8 appstore. The API stores user preferences in the user's machine on XML files, also called local storage. What do I want to know if I issue an update for my app and take users to update, will the current archived settings be erased?
The answer is no!
When an app updates, do not worry, local and roaming folders / settings will not be erased.
