newrelic platform - Creating a user-configurable New Relic Plugin -

I'm playing with the new residual Ruby SDK and created a proof of concept that draws data out of graphite, and Sends it to the new residue

Other plugins I have noticed the goal as a famous data set (for example, Apache requests or CPU loads). However, in this case I can not pre-configure the dashboard for publication, because each user's data will be completely different, depending on how they configure and store those data on their graphite .

A way to publish a pre-configured dashboard / chart to without a plugin

Every new residual published plugin includes a dashboard. You can record matrix like "component / graphite /" and then with the "component / graphite / *" you can unexpress the results normally in your affiliate dashboard. Most likely they will not be a very useful graph.

If you consider it a graphite plugin SDK for those users who want to easily combine graphite metrics by the configuration, then it will be more intuitive. While doing so, you should make a configurable and include clear instructions on changing the GUID for each use of SDK. In this way, users will find their new dashboard every time they use their SDK.
