android - Phonegap - HTML/JS to Container Communication -

Despite the fancy stuff I'm reading about PhoneGap AS AS, I like to understand some basics how the container & Amp; Javascript communicate with other? Currently it says that some native bridges are written to do this, but what is not very clear is that bridge, can any light on the communication protocol between the works of JS / container? Or any link / video / blog will be useful
