c - Confusion in understanding the concept of local in storage classes -

I am new to C programming and currently I am studying storage classes of data type modified chapter. I have some confusion in understanding. The area is stable in stagnant storage and the price is also between different calls. My suspicion is "If the radius is local then why is the O / P in the code below 1 2 3? It should be 1 1. I'm not sure what" the concept of localization in storage classes is ", but I completely I understand what a stable meaning is. There is only one doubt that I have local concepts in storage classes.

(increment) (increment), increment () ; Increment ();} increment () {Static int i = 1; printf ("% d \ n", i ); I = i + 1;}
